What Are the Attractions of the TrialGP of Japan?

The World’s Top Riders Gather in Japan! What Does Rider Tomoyuki Ogawa Say About the Fun?

It is a place where you can enjoy the surprising movements of the bikes. So, I hope you simply enjoy what you see. Also, being able to see the riders' expressions is a unique charm of trial. Since you can see the riders' expressions, it means the riders can also see the spectators' expressions, so please cheer for the riders with all your might. …

If you are watching trial for the first time, Mobility Resort Motegi is highly recommended. This is because it is easy to walk around between sections, and there are restaurants, cafes, and park attractions nearby, so you can enjoy watching the trial competition casually.
Q2. What are the highlights of trial riding?
In the sections at Mobility Resort Motegi, the highlight is the part where the bedrock forms cliffs. In some places, riders climb slopes with angles close to 90°. You might think, "No way, can you really ride a bike in a place like this?!"
I hope you enjoy watching the Riders navigate these unpredictable places on their bikes.
Also, when watching trial, I think it’s even more enjoyable if you look at the section map in advance and pick out the spots where you want to watch. Additionally, by checking the section map, you can understand the order in which the Riders will go through the sections, so I recommend reviewing the section order beforehand.

Q3. Is there anything you want people watching trial for the first time to know?
Since it is a sport that can be enjoyed without prior study, I think it’s fine to fully express your feelings by clapping or cheering when you see amazing techniques. These claps and cheers reach the riders, and if you’re lucky, the riders might even respond to them.

The World’s Top Riders Gather in Japan! What Does Sachiko Kakinuma Say About the Fun?

Trial is a competition where the rider's technique, not speed, determines the outcome. I think the appeal lies in watching their control skills and feeling, "Amazing!" Also, because the distance between the riders and the audience is close, you can see the expressions of the riders as they run through the sections. Trial is probably the only sport where you can see the world’s highest level of bike technique and the riders’ expressions so up close…

Also, the fact that motorcycles coexist within nature is a unique feature of trial. Especially at Motegi, where the sections are set within nature, I think you can enjoy the feeling of nature and the motorcycles becoming one.

Q2. What are the highlights of trial riding?
First, I want you to see the amazing skills of the top Riders competing worldwide. The world’s top Riders in trial have such high-level techniques that they can even climb cliffs that are at right angles. These incredible skills can only be performed when the motorcycle and Rider are completely in sync. When watching trial, I hope you enjoy the unity between the Rider and the motorcycle, as well as the dance-like movements.

By the way, Trial Riders have incredibly strong core muscles, so they can remain stationary while still on their bikes. Knowing this kind of fact will help you enjoy Trial even more.

Q3. Is there anything you want people watching trial for the first time to know?
In Trial, the distance between the riders and the spectators is close, so the voices of the viewers reach the Rider. Therefore, when you see the Rider's amazing technique, cheering with an "Oh!" or shouting "Go for it!" encourages the competitors.

Also, if you remember some simple rules (such as losing 1 point when you put your foot down), you will enjoy trial riding even more, so it’s a good idea to do a little preparation in advance.
