The “Mote tai” celebrated its 25th anniversary. A new page was opened in the quarter-century history. The 2022 “Mote tai” was held in September for the first time ever. On September 10th (Sat), under a clear blue sky, the official qualifying and the 3-hour endurance final were held.

This year, starting from 8:00 a.m., the official qualifying and free practice for the 3-hour final race were held first, and the official qualifying for the 7-hour endurance final race started at 9:40 a.m. Time attacks were held in 15-minute sessions for the first Rider of Group A, the first Rider of Group B, the second Rider of Group A, and the second Rider of Group B.

In the first session of Group A, #51 Vesra Racing TEC2&YSS rider Takao Fukuda recorded a time of 2 minutes 14.677 seconds, the only rider to break into the 2 minute 14 second range, securing the top spot. In the second session of Group A, #51 Vesra Racing TEC2&YSS rider Koichi Endo marked a time of 2 minutes 14.362 seconds, taking the top spot and with a combined time of 4 minutes 29.039 seconds, securing the pole position.

"I'm honestly happy to have secured pole position for the first time. This is all thanks to the team. We Riders have been able to focus on riding, and I think that led to this result. But the main event is the final, so I intend to stay focused and give it my all," said Endo. Fukuda added, "There are still adjustments to be made, and as things improve, fuel efficiency will naturally get better. The fact that all the Riders can perform at the same level is also a strength of this team. This year, we will unite as one team to aim for victory!" Having come so close to winning last year, their determination for 'this year for sure' is strong.

In second place was #65 Dan Run Club・Gun'o Shoji RT with a time of 4 minutes 31.272 seconds, followed closely by #10 Team Dendenmaru Car No.10 in third with 4 minutes 31.653 seconds, #67 Riding Sports & Fire 67 in fourth with 4 minutes 31.865 seconds, and #66 Komeina TSC & DF Nories in fifth with 4 minutes 32.165 seconds.

In the 3-hour endurance final race, 31 teams participated, 10 more than last year. In the early stages of the race, [#92 PRT TOPS with YSS SNIPER] led the race, followed by [#64 TEAM ATSU with VESRA] and [#27 Auto Shop Honma and Friends], forming a top group of three. [#9 MUSHMANS Racing Team] held a solitary fourth place. The battle for the lead saw [#27 Auto Shop Honma and Friends] start to fall behind, turning the contest into a duel between [#92 PRT TOPS with YSS SNIPER] and [#64 TEAM ATSU with VESRA], with [#64 TEAM ATSU with VESRA] moving ahead.

Around 45 minutes in, the top two made their first pit stops. [#92 PRT TOPS with YSS SNIPER] refueled, but [#64 TEAM ATSU with VESRA] only changed riders and maintained the lead. As the race reached its halfway point, [#64 TEAM ATSU with VESRA] made a pit stop and took their first refueling.

After that, [#9 MUSHMANS Racing Team] took the lead, but [#31 BALZ STORE MOTORCYCLE 3H-B] was closing in behind them. Riding that momentum, [#31 BALZ STORE MOTORCYCLE 3H-B] took the lead, but [#9 MUSHMANS Racing Team] overtook them again and extended their lead.

In the end, [#9 MUSHMANS Racing Team] completed 72 laps, finishing two laps ahead of second place, crossing the finish line at the top. They brilliantly claimed victory in the 3-hour endurance race.
"I was happy to get pole position in qualifying, but when the race started, everyone was fast. It was good that I was able to close the gap during the second rider's stint. Although we ultimately won, I was nervous at first. This is the result of everyone steadily preparing together. Since the team owner, Mr. Fujita, used to race in the past, I think this success came from accumulating experience while listening to his advice," said Hiroaki Hiroi.
