129 cars participated in the 18th "Mote Endurance" race, which started in 1998. On August 2nd (Sun), 77 cars that passed the official qualifying race the day before, and the 78 cars that won the 4-hour final race, including #34 SEEKS and G!trax, competed in the 7-hour final race. The race started in scorching heat, fitting for a summer endurance race, and continued under challenging conditions throughout the day.
The one who showed a good start was #1 YSS Racing Bulldog Tagos from pole position, entering the first corner in the lead. Following this were #68 Riding Sports Fire A from 4th place on the grid, #12 CLUB1.2 Kushitani Kawaguchi store, #57 Vesra Racing with Braking Girls, #42 YSS Mercury & Santa, #9 Plus Myu Racing & NA Kai A Team, #63 DOG FIGHT RACING, and #10 Team Pentsuke.
The rider who took the opening lap was #68 Riding Sports Fire A's Taiga Hata, who dislikes slipstream and swings his machine towards the pit wall to enter the second lap. Following this were last year's winners #12 CLUB1.2 Kushitani Kawaguchi Store, #1 YSS Racing Bulldog Tago, #42 YSS Mercury & Santa, and #57 Vesra Racing with Braking Girls.
In the early stages, the #68 Riding Sports Fire A, which had momentum, ran at the top, but the #12 CLUB1.2 Kusitani Kawaguchi store, which exceeded the average time, took the top spot and led the race. At the one-hour mark, the #12 CLUB1.2 Kusitani Kawaguchi store had a 32.633-second lead over the #68 Riding Sports Fire A. The #1 YSS Racing Bulldockatagos, #42 YSS Mercury & Santa, and #10 Team Penske were also chasing with good times, and at the two-hour mark, these five teams were on the same lap. After that, ST-CBR's #99 Racing Team Honeybee and #87 Assort Racing also showed their faces in the top positions, but the #12 CLUB1.2 Kusitani Kawaguchi store and #1 YSS Racing Bulldockatagos, who were faster, pulled away. The #12 CLUB1.2 Kusitani Kawaguchi store, which had a long pit stop time of 4 minutes due to being in the Brave class, saved fuel and took a pit strategy 5 times. On the other hand, the #1 YSS Racing Bulldockatagos in the WT class took 6 pit stops. The rankings changed at the timing of the pit stops, but with 1 hour remaining, there was a 1 minute and 36.522 second gap. The #12 CLUB1.2 Kusitani Kawaguchi store crossed the finish line with 172 laps, which was 2 laps more than last year, but received a 9-lap penalty after the race and dropped to 15th place. The #1 YSS Racing Bulldockatagos, who showed a perfect race, became the winner of the 2015 "Mote Tai".
"This year, we were able to get pole position and also achieved a fuel efficiency of 6 refuels. Of course, everyone worked hard to drive with good fuel efficiency without opening the throttle, so this is the result we were able to achieve. Since the "Mote tai" became a 250cc in 2008, I have been participating in it, and I think it was the best race I could have done," said Tatsuya Kosakabashi with a smile.
[#68 Riding Sports Fire A] finished in 2nd place after 171 laps. [#99 Racing Team Honey Bee] finished in 3rd place after 170 laps. In the final stages of the race, the battle between three female riders [#22 51 Garage + T.Pro] and former MotoGP rider Toru Ukawa of [#11 BlueEyes & DREAM Kashiwa] was intense. However, with only 6 minutes remaining, [#11 BlueEyes & DREAM Kashiwa] made an irregular pit stop, ending the battle and securing 4th place for [#22 51 Garage + T.Pro]. In 5th place was [#9 Plus Myu Racing & NA Kai A Team], followed by [#87 Assort Racing] who made a comeback after a fall to finish in 6th place.
Last year, the level had already increased, but this year, the Yamaha R25 made its first appearance in "Mote Tai" and many talented riders also participated, further raising the level. On the other hand, there were also teams who were able to enjoy "Mote Tai" without passing the qualifying round, as there was a 4-hour final race on Saturday.
From now on, "Mote tai" will continue to prioritize enjoyment and grow together with everyone. Thank you for your participation in 2015.
