2011 "Open Mote Tai"
September 4 (Sun) Race Report

The #812 Takatsuki Garage Racing Team, which excels in speed, wins from the pole position!

2011 "Open Mote Tai" September 4th (Sun) Race Report "Open Mote Tai" was born as an endurance race that can be enjoyed more easily and safely. In its fourth year, 77 teams entered. The sight of friends from shops and family enjoying together could be seen in each pit.

In the morning, the Twin Ring Motegi Road Course was covered in cloudy skies and wet roads. By the end of the free practice session, the roads had started to dry and the sun was peeking through the clouds, creating perfect dry conditions as the riders lined up on the grid.

The 2011 "Open Mote Endurance" started with a Le Mans-style start from the first group of 39 cars as planned. The pole position team, [#812 Takatsuki Garage Racing Team], took the hole shot, followed by [#21 PS Eddie & Haratsuyoworks], [#24 SPA Direct Entry & Phoebe], and [#54 Flat River Wingstone]. The second group of 38 cars also started smoothly, aiming for the finish line 7 hours later. [#812 Takatsuki Garage Racing Team] flew at a high pace from the opening lap, pulling away from the rest of the pack and returning to the home straight. On the 8th lap, they marked the fastest lap of the race with a time of 2 minutes and 18.273 seconds, establishing a dominant lead.

However, when the wind picks up, the movement of the clouds becomes faster. And when it's about 50 minutes after the start, if rain starts to fall, the rain quickly becomes stronger and turns into a downpour. Suddenly, it becomes a rain condition and many teams entered the routine pit work at this timing.

At the one hour mark, [#17 Assort+RCR Hangout] was leading the race, but at this point there were 7 cars in a close battle on the same lap. [#17 Assort+RCR Hangout] had the All Japan ST600 Champion Tatsuya Yamaguchi on their team, but unfortunately it started raining during his stint and they were unable to utilize his speed. The weather continued to change rapidly, with rain coming and going.

At the timing of the pit-in, the top of the leaderboard also changes repeatedly like the weather, with 【#7 TEAM TOSA+MOTOBUM】 at the 3-hour mark and 【#53RacingGarageSTR】 at the 4-hour mark. Former MotoGP rider Toru Ukawa's team 【#11 RC30&BLUE EYES】 was also briefly at the top.

As the race entered its final stages, the 【#812 Takatsuki Garage Racing Team】, which excels in speed, took the lead and pulled away from the rest of the pack. After completing their 10th pit stop, they returned to the track in first place and made a final sprint to the finish. The 【#812 Takatsuki Garage Racing Team】 crossed the finish line and celebrated their first victory in the "Open Mote Tai" race. "The team's determination and focus were the key to our victory. We had a scare when we encountered an electrical issue during the race, but luckily it was fixed in the end," commented the team. They were the only team to complete 147 laps, but it was not an easy win as it may have appeared.

In second place was the Neo Standard VTR class top team [#7 TEAM TOSA+MOTOBUM], followed by the WT class top team [#75 Power Factory Roadway] in third place, both one lap behind. In fourth place was [#53 Racing Garage STR] and in fifth place was [#1 Bulldocker Tagos & Haruman], both completing 146 laps.
