
In 2009, the season of "Mote Endurance" has arrived. On July 19th (Sun), the official qualifying was held and the starting grid was determined by the combined time of the first and second riders with domestic licenses.
The rain that had been falling until morning has stopped, and it became a time attack in hot and humid conditions.
In 2009, there was a schedule with alternating sessions of "Mote Tai Masters" and "Open Mote Tai". There was a free practice session starting at 10am, and at noon the official qualifying for the first rider of "Mote Tai Masters" began.
The top spot was taken by #10 WITH ME RACING's Akira Kamie player, who marked a time of 2 minutes 01 seconds 120. Following closely behind was #67 Riding Sports & Fire's Jun Funahashi player, who set a personal best time of 2 minutes 01 seconds 147 on the checker lap, moving up from 5th to 2nd place. At one point, #24 2Rinkan RT & DFR's Yukihito Sasaki player was in the lead with a time of 2 minutes 01 seconds 277. Following behind were #95 BOON! Companion!'s Takahito Ueda player with 2 minutes 01 seconds 289, and #2 2Rinkan R.T's Takeshi Kuga player with 2 minutes 01 seconds 724, all marking times in the 2 minute 01 second range.
The third and fourth riders' sessions were sandwiched, and the second rider's time attack was also conducted. However, the top five positions remained unchanged, with "#10 WITH ME RACING" claiming the pole position for the "Mote Endurance Masters". However, the second rider of "#10 WITH ME RACING", Hiroshi Maruyama, was involved in an accident at the hairpin and only completed one lap.
As a topic of discussion, MotoGP rider Toru Ukawa, who holds the record for the most wins in the Coca-Cola Zero Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race, entered from "#30 RC30 & BLUE EYES". In the third and fourth riders' sessions, he marked a time of 2 minutes 00.901 seconds, showing a glimpse of his ability.
The "Open Mote Endurance" qualifying race, in which 76 bikes participated, will start from the second rider's session according to the timetable. The first-time participant, [#21 SP3 & Amphini & Madoka Design], took the top spot and secured pole position. Although the first rider of [#705 Matsumoto Clinic Garage Speed], Takehiko Kurokawa, marked an astonishing time of 2 minutes and 22.300 seconds, it was not enough to beat the combined time and they ended up in second place. In third place was [#49 Motor Life Wing Stone], followed by [#1 Bulldock Tagos & Haruman], [#62 TEAM Utashiro & T Corps ★ Tatsurin] in fifth place, and [#23 Moto Clutch & WAKO'S] in sixth place, all with a close margin.
Each team will check their fuel efficiency, machine, and riding, and look ahead to the final race in about a month. The "Mote Tai Masters" will be held on August 22nd (Sat) and the "Open Mote Tai" will be held on August 23rd (Sun), each lasting 7 hours.
