The final day, which had become a scorching July 10th (Sat), was a complete change with cloudy skies. Although the sun shone through the clouds just before the start, the clouds thickened afterwards. The humidity remained high, but the temperature did not rise, making for more comfortable conditions compared to July 10th (Sat).
The rolling start consists of two formation laps, and when the safety car enters the pit, the signal changes to green and the historic 10th "JOY TAI" 7-hour endurance race begins.
First, the #2 Purple Lightning Team's Lotus 2-11, starting from pole position, enters the first corner in the lead. However, the #83 HONDA NSX quickly catches up and takes the lead. On the opening lap, the #83 HONDA NSX sets the fastest lap of the race at 2 minutes 13.627 seconds and continues to lead the race. However, after 30 minutes, they make their first pit stop and drop down in the rankings. Up until this point, the race was following a similar pattern to that of 2009, but after one hour, a safety car is introduced for the first time in three years due to a car remaining on the track in the "JOY TAI" race. After this, a second safety car is introduced, and the race becomes somewhat chaotic. Many teams took advantage of this safety car period to make their pit stops, causing congestion in the pit area and resulting in lost time for some teams.
At the 2-hour mark, the team leading the race was A2 class #92 Lofti Senju Sogo Dai-P Heart EP82, starting from the 60th grid, but a faster B3 class team emerged in front. At the 4-hour mark, #31 Cyber SPM Takadake Seisakujo EF9 took the lead and led the race. When the safety car was deployed for the third time for oil treatment at Victory Corner, the rankings changed.
As the remaining 1 hour approached, [#61 Verity Mecca DL Civic], who was leading the race, pitted in for refueling. In their place, [#44 Green System DLWMEG6] took the lead, but soon after, they also pitted in. At this point, [#85 DEEP M1 MR2 TBS], who had been patiently aiming for the top from 22nd grid, took over the lead and ran smoothly.
In the afternoon, the rain started to fall little by little, but it didn't become a heavy downpour and the race continued. However, after 30 minutes had passed, the rain became stronger and the track conditions turned wet. Some teams were caught off guard by the rain and went off track. With 20 minutes remaining, a crash involving two cars occurred at the final corner. This resulted in the fourth safety car of the day being deployed, making it the race with the most safety cars in "JOY TAI" history.
[#85 DEEPM1MR2TBS] Compared to other B3 class teams, the pit work was one less time, but it was all according to plan. "(Fuel efficiency) was comfortable. In 2009, we ended up with incomplete combustion due to trouble with the drive shaft, so in 2010 we came to repay the favor. The timing of the safety car also helped us. I'm glad we won," said A driver Hirokazu Kikuchi.
[#85 DEEPM1MR2TBS] MR2 completed 148 laps and won the 10th anniversary race.
In second place was the #31 Cyber SPM Takadake Manufacturing EF9 Civic, followed by the #5 Mizuho Pharmacy WIND Pal Grandpa City in third place, both one lap behind.
