The commemorative 15th anniversary KART Endurance Festival. On August 29th (Sat), the 5-hour endurance race for the Challenge Class will be held. As the temperature dropped and the autumn rain front moved south, Twin Ring Motegi was covered in rain from the morning.
By the time the cars moved to the grid, the rain had stopped and the opening ceremony, including the declaration by Twin Ring Motegi Angel and greetings by Manager Aoki, had ended. Finally, the rolling lap began. The safety car entered the pit, the signal turned green, and the Japanese flag was waved, signaling the start of the K-TAI 5-hour challenge class. Starting from pole position, #87 CG Robot R-Voice 1st was followed by #20 SuperChipsDream, which took the lead from the inside and entered the first corner in first place. Following behind were #4 ddd and #6 Teacher & Salaryman. However, the car that returned to the top after the opening lap was #77 Endo Auto Service 1st. Following behind were #20 SuperChipsDream and #4 ddd, with a slight gap behind them were #23 A1-RACING, #88 Team Douraku no Kai @ SILK, and #87 CG Robot R-Voice 1st. After that, #4 ddd moved up to second place and led with the top #77 Endo Auto Service 1st, but both #77 Endo Auto Service 1st and #4 ddd made their first pit stop after 20 minutes. In their place, #20 SuperChipsDream took the lead, but around this time, a light rain began to fall and there were many cars that went off the track. Even if they couldn't restart, one of the great things about the 4 major endurance races at Twin Ring Motegi is that they can be recovered by a tow truck and returned to the pit, allowing the race events to continue and be enjoyed.
After that, at the pit-in timing, the top was exchanged between [#23 A1-RACING], [#4 ddd], [#20 SuperChipsDream], and [#21 Ore-ra Racing], but with 1 hour remaining, [#77 Endo Auto Service No. 1] was in the lead. [#23 A1-RACING] followed closely behind with a 20.394 second difference. [#77 Endo Auto Service No. 1] wanted to hold on to the lead, but they had to pit twice during that time. In the meantime, [#23 A1-RACING] took the lead and completed 93 laps, winning the award for most laps completed. "This is our 6th attempt at K-TAI. Last year, we finished in 2nd place, so this year we really wanted to finish in 1st place. We achieved our long-awaited goal. We were able to win in the winter race and now in the summer K-TAI, which were our two main goals. I think the key to our victory was our fuel efficiency. We were able to balance speed and fuel efficiency," commented the team.
【#77 Endo Auto Service 1st】completed 92 laps and received the Excellent Lap Award. In addition, they also won the MVP award. The top of Class III was 【#26 racer racer】who finished in 6th place overall.
