On July 25th (Sun), the 10th Endurance Carnival 2010 Motegi KART Endurance Festival "K-TAI" was held. Following the 5-hour endurance event the day before, this day also featured a participatory event using karts with 4-stroke universal engines. "K-TAI" has been supported by various fans for many years, and in 2010, 109 teams participated in the 7-hour endurance event.
In the early morning, as the temperature rises, the usual player entrance begins with PIPIRA of KOCHIRA Racing in the lead. With all 109 teams of drivers gathered, the atmosphere of the venue becomes more and more lively, as if it were a festival. Each team participated in the briefing with expressions like "We will enjoy running for 7 hours until the finish line!"
The player oath on the second day was given by the MVP of the 2009 7-hour endurance event, [#1 Racing the Ape].
The greetings with the officials and those involved in supporting "K-TAI" have become an annual tradition, but after 10 years, the opening ceremony and briefing made us realize that we are supported by many people.
The 7-hour endurance final event started at 10:00. It was divided into two groups, the first group and the second group, and started in a rolling format. This start, divided into two groups, is already a familiar scene for "K-TAI". The first team to return to the top was #20 Super Chips Dream, which started from the 17th grid, followed by #2 K.R.R GX DREAM1, #96 Club Racing Do, and others, all racing in a bunch. After one hour, #2 K.R.R GX DREAM1, which completed 21 laps, was in the lead, followed by #20 Super Chips Dream, #3 K.R.R GX DREAM2, #4 ddd, #74 Friends and KME, #96 Club Racing Do, #7 R2-RACING@GEN, #21 Ore Racing + TRM KL, #86 REON SuperKids3, and #808 Opera Super Performance, all 10 cars racing in the same lap. This result symbolized the intense event that followed.
During this event, various events are held inside the venue. Many participants take advantage of the opportunity to promote themselves directly to those inside the venue, such as through pit reports by Twin Ring Motegi Angels, PR in the announcement room, and real-time messages through email submissions. The interactions between the participants' interesting PR and the announcers, heard through the venue broadcast, are a valuable experience that cannot be found in traditional spectator motorsports. This friendly atmosphere is unique to "K-TAI". Moreover, with the continuous submissions of PR requests and real-time messages, it can be said that these events are well-received by the participants.
Meanwhile, in the midst of the intense race at the final event, at the midway point, the two teams that were leading the top battle by marking the most laps were #808 Opera Super Performance and #2 K.R.R GX DREAM1, who showed their dominance by overtaking more than 100 other teams. Slowly widening the gap with the other teams, they continued to race towards the checkered flag.
Around 16:10, with only 1 hour remaining, the sky above Twin Ring Motegi was covered in rain clouds and light rain began to fall. About 10 minutes later, the rain became heavy, and for the safety of the participants, the safety car was introduced with approximately 30 minutes remaining. After that, the safety car led the way for several laps in an attempt to reach the checkered flag 7 hours later, but the weather conditions worsened with strong winds and thunderstorms. As a result, for the safety of the participants, the red flag was raised after 6 hours and 41 minutes since the start, ending the final event.
As a result, the #2 K.R.R GX DREAM1 team, which completed 129 laps, won the Most Laps Award in the 7-hour endurance event and the Challenge Class. In an amazing feat, they achieved victory on both days, following their win in the 5-hour endurance event the day before. The team commented, "We are happy to have executed our planned strategy perfectly and won the Most Laps Award for two consecutive days." In the Enjoy Class, the #75 RF Aoyama. Sake Powers team completed 125 laps and won the race, saying, "We are surprised by the unexpected result." In addition, the Excellent Laps Award went to the Challenge Class teams #808 Opera Super Performance, #777 REON SuperKids1, and #3 K.R.R GX DREAM2, and the Enjoy Class teams #196 Team IMA. OMSC, #8 Hayakoba Racing★IMP, #76 RF Aoyama. KRT, and #120 TEAMKRS-DAI&MKS.
And the MVP award that everyone was paying attention to was won by [#16 Yomiuri Automobile University]. All drivers participated in all driving sessions, and not only that, but the procedures such as entry were also smooth. The reason for the award was the hardworking attitude of the entire school working together towards the goal of "K-TAI".
Note: This award ceremony will be held in the pit due to bad weather. Despite the red flag interruption caused by a thunderstorm, the event was able to continue and resulted in a joyful award ceremony for all those who gathered.
And so, the two days of the momentous 2010 "K-TAI" event, marking the 10th anniversary since its inception, have come to a close. With the aim of further developing 4-stroke sports karts, "K-TAI" is scheduled to continue to power up!
