approximately 5,800 species of living things have been confirmed within
Mobility Resort Motegi.
The cast of Hello Woods will introduce
the living things they encountered during their walks.
Encounter
-
Kunugi
Shooting location: Akanezumi Square
The larger ones produce round acorns about 2cm in diameter. They are characterized by a jagged cupule, which is called a hat. They serve as a valuable food source for forest creatures such as squirrels, flying squirrels, Akanezumi, and wild birds like jays during the autumn to winter period. -
Praying Mantis
Shooting location: Mizusumashi no Sawa
Using large claw-like front legs, they prey on butterflies, grasshoppers, dragonflies, and more. They are more commonly seen in fields than in forests. Autumn is the breeding season. The females, which can grow up to about 10cm, lay egg sacs containing around 200 small eggs on plants like Japanese pampas grass. -
Enma Cricket
Shooting location: Kabutomushi Hill
Males rub their wings together to make sounds. The sound changes during displays of aggression, territory assertion, and when attracting females. The ears that distinguish these sounds are located on the front legs. There are small elongated holes near the joints that resemble white eardrums, so take a closer look.
