Japanese Robin
Shooting location: Donguri Square
Around the time when the leaves start to change color, migratory birds the size of sparrows fly in from Tibet, China, and Russia to spend the winter. You can see them until spring perched on branches or posts in sunny, open areas, searching the ground for spiders and small insects to eat. They are characterized by bowing their heads as if they are nodding and making sounds like "Hic, Hic" or "Kuwa, Kuwa." -

Uguisukagura
Shooting location: Akanezumi Square
One of the few trees that blooms in the cold winter in the forest, with some blooming as early as December. On sunny winter days when the temperature rises, it is a valuable source of food for bees and flies that visit the flowers during the scarce winter months. By the end of spring, it bears small red fruits about 1 cm in size. -

Japanese squirrel
Shooting location: Kabutomushi Hill
They do not hibernate and are active in the early morning and evening, eating a variety of foods such as nuts and insects. During the winter, when food is scarce, they often eat acorns and seeds of red pines (pine cones) that they have stored and hidden in the autumn. January to February is the breeding season. You may encounter scenes where males chase females or fight among themselves.
