SUPER GT is Japan's premier racing series where top drivers handle racing cars developed based on production cars from domestic and international automakers,
showcasing the highest level of competition in the country.
Two drivers take turns handling one machine, featuring elements of teamwork aiming for victory,
and a dramatic development intertwined with race strategies, making it a race full of highlights.
Furthermore, at the venue, there are events, booths from various manufacturers, limited edition goods, and specialty gourmet foods,
offering content that even race beginners can enjoy all day long.
Here, we introduce tips so that even first-time spectators can fully enjoy the SUPER GT Motegi event!
SUPER GT has two classes: "GT500" and "GT300".
The GT500 class is the top category featuring three leading domestic manufacturers. While the design mimics the appearance of production cars, the interior is completely race-specific. On straights, speeds can reach nearly 300 km/h, incorporating advanced aerodynamic technology and lightweight construction throughout.
The GT300 class features machines based on the FIA GT3 regulations as well as JAF-GT vehicles built to unique specifications. The sight of these distinctive cars, proudly presented by domestic and international manufacturers, competing against each other is truly spectacular.
You can easily distinguish the classes at a glance. GT500 cars have white number plates and white headlights, while GT300 cars are unified by yellow number plates and yellow headlights. This makes it easy to identify which class a car belongs to even during the race.
The 2025 SUPER GT Final Round will be held at Mobility Resort Motegi. This race, which decides the annual champion, is called the "Grand Final" and attracts attention as the climax of the series.
In the Final Round, the performance adjustment called "Success Weight," which had been imposed based on mid-season results, is lifted, allowing each team to challenge head-to-head with their machines' original speed. This year, multiple teams in both GT500 and GT300 remain in the title race, promising an unmissable showdown until the very last lap.
Furthermore, after the race ends, a special ceremony called the "Grand Finale" will be held to conclude the series. Along with the awarding of the annual champion, the moment when the drivers who have battled through the season share their joy with the fans is an emotional scene that can only be experienced on-site.

The early part of the season was a tough battle, but they achieved victory at Rd.5 Suzuka, demonstrating their true strength as Nissan's ace. This win has drawn attention to how far they can climb in the standings towards the end of the season.

He has long supported the Toyota camp and accumulated numerous victories. In the 2025 season, he achieved a come-from-behind victory at Rd.2 Fuji, leading the team to its first championship in about six years. In July of this year, he announced his retirement from the GT500 class at the end of this season. Currently ranked 4th, he aims for a higher position and will take on his last run at the Final Round in Motegi.

Since making his GT500 debut at the Suzuka 1000km in 2007, he has supported the Honda team for 19 seasons, driving machines across five generations and achieving numerous excellent results. He has announced his retirement from the GT500 class at the end of this season and aims for his first victory of the season together with his teammate Okusa.

He has set the all-time record with a total of 25 wins, the most in the series history, 202 races participated in JGTC/SUPER GT, and a total of 1267 points scored, the highest ever. Since 2006, he has been contracted with Nissan and NISMO, leading the team for 20 seasons. In the 2025 season, he achieved his 25th win at Rd.6 SUGO, demonstrating unchanged speed this season as well. He announced that this season will be his final one in SUPER GT activities and will face his last battle at Motegi as a culmination of his career.

Even in autumn, prolonged exposure to sunlight is dangerous. A hat or cap with a wide brim is essential. It is also important to choose one that fits well and is less likely to be blown away by the wind.

Backpacks and sacoche bags that free up your hands are convenient in the viewing area. They make it easy to manage valuables, and if they are lightweight and fit your body well, you can stay comfortable while moving around. It’s even more reassuring if they are waterproof to prepare for sudden changes in the weather.

To avoid direct sunlight, long-sleeved shirts with excellent breathability are ideal. It is also important to avoid colors that easily absorb heat, such as black. Since it often gets chilly in the mornings and evenings, having an extra layer to put on is useful.

Stretch fabric pants that are comfortable even after sitting for long periods are recommended.

Since you will be walking a lot, wear well-broken-in sneakers or trekking shoes. Sandals are not recommended, even if it’s hot.

④ Kappa PonchoBe prepared for rain and don't forget your rain gear. Umbrellas can be a nuisance to those around you, so a raincoat or poncho is recommended. Even if the weather forecast predicts clear skies, it's a good idea to have it just in case.

⑤ Plastic BagIt is useful for storing towels and clothes that have become wet from sweat or rain. Having a few large and sturdy plastic bags prepared can be convenient for various other uses as well.

10. Radio with EarphonesAt Mobility Resort Motegi's in-house commentary FM (80.9MHz), you can listen to live broadcasts from the venue, so if you have a radio with earphones, you can clearly follow the race from anywhere.

11. SmartphoneSince you will need to show your ticket at the entrance gate, keep your smartphone in a place where you can quickly take it out! For peace of mind in case of emergencies, it’s also a good idea to bring a printed paper ticket.
